Police put the skids on Pope’s Royal Mile (Edinburgh) motorcade route.

Police put the brakes on the Pope’s Royal Mile (Edinburgh) motorcade route.  Others put a spoke in the wheels!

Safety fears force pontiff to redirect!

Joseph Alois Ratzinger – Pope Benedict XVI – is due to fly into Edinburgh, Scotland, on the morning of 16 September 2010.

The plan had been that he would then travel all the way up the Royal Mile in his bullet-proof “Popemobile” en route for lunch at the official residence of Cardinal Keith O’Brien in Morningside – see post below of April 1 2010.

Safety fears and local police force pontiff to redirect – hopefully in the right direction!
